Assistant Project Manager (Band 6) - Finance

Salary: p/h
Hours: hours pw / Monday - Friday
About the Role
The Equip Programme is a Health and Social Care Northern Ireland (HSCNI) initiative replacing current HR and Finance systems (HRPTS and FPL) with a single, modern cloud-based solution. The programme will transform functions including HR, Recruitment, Pay, Travel, Finance, Procurement and Logistics - equipping staff with smarter, more efficient tools.
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of the Finance element of the Equip Programme within the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. Working closely with the Finance Project Manager and regional Equip Team, you'll help ensure successful implementation and engagement across departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the implementation and delivery of the Finance workstream within the Equip Programme.
2. Assist with project governance, monitoring, risk management and reporting.
3. Contribute to project planning, budgeting, milestone tracking, and benefit realisation.
4. Prepare reports, documentation and progress updates in line with HSC standards.
5. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and regional teams.
6. Support the review and update of finance-related policies and procedures impacted by the new system.
7. Participate in post-project evaluations and continuous improvement activity.
Essential Criteria
8. Degree and 2 years' relevant experience, OR
HND/equivalent and 3 years' relevant experience, OR
5 years' relevant experience in a similar project/change management role.
9. Strong communication, organisational and people management skills.
10. Ability to analyse information, produce detailed reports, and prioritise work under pressure.
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
12. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments considered).
