Bid Manager- Permanent Opportunity
Division: Civil Engineering
Location: Manchester

Helping to win profitable work for the GRAHAM business, the Bid Manager will play a lead role in the production of a diverse range of high-quality submissions to our clients throughout the UK and Ireland.
The role will comprise the effective leading and co-ordination of our delivery teams, in-house staff from our SHEQ, Planning, Design Management, Commercial and HR Departments and external design consultants and supply chain partners. The objective is that all project team members will work productively towards high-quality, competitive submissions to our Clients.
The candidate will be a skilful team player, with stellar knowledge of Civil Engineering practices and design principles and will be well organised to ensure delivery within stringent deadlines.
The Bid Manager shall:
* Implement tender strategies to co-ordinate the preparation and submission of the bid
* Achieve agreed bid objectives in terms of quality, programme and cost
* Report on the progress of each tender against agreed criteria
* Review technical solutions to ensure most cost-efficient solutions are considered
* Liaise with other GRAHAM staff, design teams and supply chain to ensure integration of the best technical solutions
* Present for approval, key information including technical responses, staffing and administration structures for tender preparation
* Maintain relevant databases including Sharepoint and ensure information is up to date
* Follow core GRAHAM business systems and policies throughout your area of responsibility
* Identify and implement ways to continually improve submissions using Debrief information and Lessons learnt
* Prepare meeting schedules and coordination of the design and construct teams
* Prepare presentations
* Lead on prelims and methodology
Candidate Requirements:
Essential
* Solid experience in a Bid Management role
* Demonstrate a good understanding of the Civil Engineering market
* Have thorough understanding of construction techniques
* Understand engineering design principles
* Comprehensive understanding of the tendering process within the construction industry
* Strong communication skills both written and oral
* Extensive experience of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
* Access to a car and have a clean driving licence
* Successful submissions in the English market resulting in the conversion to live projects
Desirable
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent
