Monarch Education are recruiting for qualified Teaching Assistants to support a secondary school in the small heath region from September. The school are looking for confident, reliable and skilled support staff who can work with students across a range of needs and abilities. A variety of backgrounds and skillsets will be considered, including graduates, academic mentors, SEMH specialists and support staff with intimate care training. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity, ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them make positive progress in school. The school are interested in hearing from: Qualified Teaching Assistants Graduates looking to gain school-based experience Academic mentors SEMH specialists Behaviour support staff SEND support staff Teaching Assistants with intimate care training Candidates with experience supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis What the role will involve: Supporting students in lessons across the curriculum Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Helping students stay focused, engaged and on task Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs Assisting with academic progress, confidence and independence Supporting behaviour in line with school expectations Delivering targeted interventions where required Providing personal care/intimate care where trained and appropriate Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEND team Promoting a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment The school are looking for someone who has: A recognised TA qualification or relevant school-based experience Experience working with children or young people Confidence supporting students in a school environment Strong communication and relationship-building skills A calm, patient and proactive approach Good behaviour management skills Ability to support students with different needs and abilities Experience with SEND, SEMH or intervention work would be beneficial Reliability, professionalism and a strong work ethic Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing This role would suit someone who is passionate about education and wants to make a real difference to students who may need additional academic, emotional or behavioural support.
