2 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Job Purpose:
To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the school premises, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness in classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas in line with health and safety and infection control guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in classrooms, hallways, and other areas.
* Clean desks, chairs, and other classroom furniture.
* Empty bins and dispose of rubbish safely and appropriately.
* Clean and disinfect toilets, wash basins, and other sanitary areas.
* Refill soap, toilet paper, and hand towels as needed.
* Wipe and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and bannisters.
* Clean windows (internal), sills, and doors.
* Report any maintenance or safety issues (e.g. broken fixtures, leaks) to the Site Manager promptly.
* Follow all cleaning schedules and procedures as directed.
* Use cleaning materials safely and store them in accordance with COSHH regulations.
* Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored securely after use.
* Adhere to the school’s safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality policies.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a cleaning role (ideally within a school or similar environment)
* Understanding of cleaning products and procedures
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
* Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual cleaning tasks
* Good awareness of hygiene and health & safety practices
