Deputy General Manager – Automotive Logistics

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum + £3,900 Car Allowance
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: 45 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Are you an experienced leader looking for your next career move in the automotive logistics industry? We are seeking a Deputy General Manager to join our team at a leading Vehicle Distribution Centre in South Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, supporting operational teams to implement effective improvement plans.
* Develop and manage a resource planning model to assist in informed decision-making on labour and subcontract requirements.
* Act as the second-in-command, deputising for the General Manager during absences and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
* Standardise operational processes and introduce best practices across multiple sites.
* Deliver quality-driven processes, innovation, and operational excellence while reducing waste and optimising efficiency.
* Research and recommend operational improvements, including layout enhancements, IT system solutions, and resource planning strategies.
* Provide strategic Quality and CI support across the network, aligning operations with customer KPIs and maximising financial benefits.
* Maintain regular communication and reporting, including verbal, written, and monthly presentations.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.

* Proven leadership experience in an operational or logistics environment.
* Strong background in process improvement and resource management.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making skills.
* Ability to drive change and implement standardisation across multiple sites.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience in the automotive or logistics sector is highly desirable.
