The Opportunity
Edinburgh College of Art is seeking to appoint an individual for a part-time post for a Teaching Fellow in Graphic Design, who will be able to deliver high-quality teaching provision. The post-holder will contribute to the programme vision for delivering innovative teaching. The post requires extensive experience of the skills necessary to perform within the graphic design environment. Applicants should demonstrate a significant track record of achievement in design theory and practical studio teaching. This post will place a focus across UG and PG teaching provision. The post holder would also be expected to be able to undertake PGR supervision where appropriate.We are looking for a Teaching Fellow in Graphic Design, with applied graphic design practice to support delivery of the BA & MA Graphic Design programmes across a range of courses in Graphic Design and ECA.
Skills and Attributes for Success
1. Master’s degree (PG) and Undergraduate degree in combination with extensive industry experience in Graphic Design or a related subject.
2. Demonstrable industry lead expertise will also be considered.
3. Experience of teaching and educational administration in higher/further education.
4. A historical, theoretical and contextual understanding of the discipline.
5. Professional graphic design industry experience, or experience as a practitioner.
6. Clear communicator with passion for teaching graphic design.
7. Ability to work successfully as part of a team.
8. Ability to organise, prioritise and manage time effectively.
9. Demonstrable commitment to a diverse and inclusive working environment
