About this opportunity
Are you someone who loves working with data? Do you enjoy developing charts graphs and visualisations?
Can you assist in summarising data to help find meaningful insights for different audiences? Are you comfortable working with large databases and datasets and do you have experience of extracting and manipulating data using SQL-based interrogation tools or similar?
Whether you're an Excel expert or a database guru, if you can turn big datasets into insights that people can understand, we'd love to have you in our team.
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced strategic team, focussed on improving the lives of people in Cumberland. We can offer you excellent training and development opportunities alongside flexible working that allows you to keep the right work-life balance while still developing your career.
About the role:
This role offers the opportunity to work as a member of the Performance and Analysis Team to extract and format performance information to help all tiers of management in a local authority and partnership context.
What we are looking for:
You will have excellent numerical and analytical skills together with some experience of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques. You'll have a good level of experience of extracting, manipulating and using performance information with appreciation of a rapidly changing environment. The ability to interrogate large amounts of data and present data in an effective way are essential for this role, and there will be an opportunity to engage with stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate needs a flexible 'can-do' approach, and they would have an eye for detail and opportunities to develop products or processes.
Previous experience in a local government setting is desirable, but not essential. Successful candidates can be supported to further develop their subject knowledge.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for individuals who embody our organisation's core values: ambitious, collaborative, compassionate, empowering, and innovative. We believe in the power of these values to drive positive change, deliver excellent public services and shape a better future for our communities.
We're also about potential over perfection and we can help you grow in the role and thrive in your career.
