The Role
We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner Programmer to join the team. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-quality components to exacting tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
* Programming, setting, and operating Dugard lathes with Fanuc controls.
* Producing precision components in prototype and small-batch quantities.
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure parts meet specifications.
* Working with a variety of materials including steels, alloys, and specialist metals.
* Conducting in-process inspection and quality checks to maintain accuracy.
* Optimising programs and machining methods to improve efficiency and minimise waste.
* Collaborating with colleagues to meet deadlines and production targets.
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with health & safety standards.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be an experienced CNC Machinist with a strong background in programming and operating CNC lathes. You will be detail-oriented, methodical, and capable of working both independently and as part of a small, skilled team.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in CNC turning, with programming ability using Fanuc controls (essential).
* Strong engineering background with knowledge of machining principles and practices.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment.
* Flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Commitment to producing high-quality work.
