What's involved with this role: Job Title: Commercial Services Programmer Ref: Mid Devon 5272939 Pay rate: £14.36 per hour PAYE The candidate must be flexible and willing to work in a hybrid arrangement, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. The role: We are looking for a Commercial Services Programmer to oversee the allocation and coordination of work to trade operatives, ensuring work is appointed within the target completion times as per job priorities. Key responsibilities: Prioritise and organise job tickets by due date and trade where not yet assigned by the ICT system, ensuring efficient scheduling within the appointments system Review ICT-assigned jobs and authorise them to Commercial Services operatives; reassign tasks to more suitable operatives, areas, or amend timings where necessary Monitor the ICT diary system to ensure jobs are allocated accurately and efficiently, maximising workforce productivity Contact tenants to arrange or amend appointments, logging all relevant details in the task system De-allocate work from operatives due to sickness or absence and reassign to ensure jobs are completed within set deadlines Allocate emergency repairs promptly, assigning the correct trade in the appropriate area to minimise cost and boost productivity Liaise with operatives on jobs requiring multiple trades, coordinating work to maximise first-time fix rates Work with the Customer Relations team to manage appointment availability in the ICT system, avoiding overbooking or underuse of trade resources Generate reports on overdue job tickets and collaborate with the Commercial Services Officer daily to reduce backlog; print and monitor jobs due each day to avoid missed deadlines Oversee operatives’ holiday entries in the diary, ensuring adequate trade cover is in place at all times and flagging any conflicts to the Commercial Services Manager What the client is looking for: Minimum 3 GCSE or equivalent including Maths and English Extensive relevant housing maintenance experience General understanding of diagnosing housing repairs Understanding of time allocation of repair works Excellent communication skills and customer care skills Proficient IT skills Able to apply numerical calculations Ability to work within set targets and deadlines and use initiative to solve day to day problems Able to deal with the conflicting demands of the service How to Apply Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
