Practice Nurse – with Respiratory interest (Part-Time, 30-36 hours / 3 – 4 days)

About the role
We’re recruiting for a motivated and experienced Practice Nurse with a special interest in respiratory care to join our established team in a busy, growing GP Practice. You will have a key role in leading our respiratory service (COPD & asthma) while also undertaking general practice nursing duties. The role is initially part-time (30-36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday) though we will consider applicants working 3 full days.
Key responsibilities include:
* Acting as the respiratory lead, managing COPD and asthma patients, reviewing medication, supporting adherence and educating patients about their condition.
* Prioritising and intervening in complex, urgent or emergency respiratory care situations.
* Undertaking general practice nursing duties including immunisations (adult & child), cytology, QOF reviews, travel health, and treatment room work.
* Working within evidence-based practice and adhering to national & practice protocols.
* Participating in development of protocols, audit, and team goals.

* Serving a patient list of approximately 15,600 across urban & rural areas, smooth steady growth.
* Recent premises expansion and direct adjacency to community hospital services, including on-site phlebotomy, radiology, MIU and other clinical services.
* Integrated multi-disciplinary team including MSK physiotherapy and clinical pharmacists.
* Teaching practice hosting GP registrars and medical students, with supportive clinical team culture; monthly practice lunches and good collaborative environment
Person specification – Essential
* Registered Nurse with current UK professional registration.
* Eligible to work in the UK; meets DSB (Disclosure & Barring Service) requirements.
* Respiratory qualification plus prior experience of general practice nursing (treatment room + respiratory clinics) in the UK.
* Experience of cytology, QOF disease management, clinical audit and good IT skills.
* Excellent verbal & written communication skills, team-oriented, flexible, well-organised, committed to CPD and patient-centred approach with empathy.
* Experience supporting long-term conditions and understanding of current nursing & NHS issues.
Desirable:
* Qualifications in sexual health, travel health clinics or diabetes management.
* Previous experience of EMIS Web
