Job Title: Positive Engagement Coach Location: Specialist School Huddersfield Salary: GBP150GBP170 per day Contract Type: Full-Time / Term-Time Only Start Date: ASAP About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and proactive Positive Engagement Coach to join a specialist school in Huddersfield, supporting children and young people with complex needs including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), autism, and other learning differences. Key Responsibilities: Build trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and participation. Deliver targeted interventions to support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development. Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to implement personalised support strategies. Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Monitor progress and contribute to individual education and behaviour plans. Requirements: Experience working in specialist or alternative education settings is highly desirable. Strong understanding of SEMH, autism, and trauma-informed approaches. Excellent communication and de-escalation skills. A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to behaviour support.
