DEPARTMENT, TEAM - REAL ESTATE MANAGED LEGAL SERVICES
REPORTING LINE - PARTNER & HEAD OF MLS DELIVERY
LOCATION - MANCHESTER/LEEDS/SCOTLAND
WORK TYPE/PATTERN - FULL TIME OR PART TIME
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
* Working as an extension of our client's in-house legal team, delivering directly to client business stakeholders, providing end-to-end outsourced managed legal services.
* With a new and exciting client portfolio, our Tier 1 ranked team is looking for a Senior Paralegal to join our dedicated client services team.
* Delivering legal services using innovative methods and drawing insights from client data to improve services.
* Acting for a FTSE 100 Retail Company, supporting the delivery of services to manage their property estate.
* Our approach includes using advanced technology, legal operations specialists, and access to specialist lawyers/paralegals, along with technical training.
THE TEAM:
* The team is part of our real estate managed legal services, working as a dedicated client account team managing the client's property portfolio. It does not involve other client accounts or wider transactional real estate work.
* The team acts as a comprehensive service provider for legal services typically handled by an in-house team.
* The Real Estate Group is one of our largest, advising clients in 98 countries, working from over 18 offices globally.
* We utilize the latest technology, including Orbital Witness and HighQ platforms, with all team members trained accordingly. We encourage testing new technologies, including generative AI.
* The team has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate transactions, including developments, acquisitions, sales, disposals, and asset management. Led by two partners with 40 years of combined experience.
* Managed legal services is an innovative field, and we are at the forefront, redefining legal service delivery through digital transformation and new approaches.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE:
* Assisting with commercial property matters such as leases, renewals, licences, disposals, and acquisitions.
* Working within a structured delivery model with clear guidelines, client know-how, dedicated support, legal tech, and project management tools.
* Collaborating with the wider client team to ensure consistency and share best practices.
* Checking property title information and reviewing titles for land ownership and lease terms.
* Communicating directly with clients and supporting senior team members with drafting, reporting, and transactions.
* Providing regular updates on matter progress.
* Handling post-completion tasks like archiving deeds and updating records.
This position offers flexibility in working hours, a focus on innovative methodologies, continuous improvement, and access to dedicated legal tech training and knowledge resources.
YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
Successful candidates will have:
* Experience in real estate and commercial property; retail sector experience is a plus but not essential.
* High attention to detail and ability to quickly learn client management systems.
* Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple demands.
* Interest or experience in using technology for legal work.
* Flexibility in working hours to meet business needs.
* Sound judgment, commercial awareness, and common sense.
