Job Description:
Role: Grants Verification Officer - Temporary - Belfast
Job Overview: VANRATH is partnering with a returning client to find a Grants Verification Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will lead, plan, and deliver a dynamic and independent audit service.
Salary: £30,000
Location: Belfast
Duration: Up to 6 months, with potential for extension
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure expenditure is eligible, accurate, and aligned with project budgets.
2. Complete verification forms and reports, highlighting non-compliance or irregularities for management action.
3. Verify project compliance with grant applications, contract conditions, and funding agreements.
4. Tailor verification work to project size and nature, addressing irregularities.
5. Report financial irregularities to relevant authorities, with recommendations for improvement.
6. Contribute to the review of funding schemes, policies, and procedures, managing changing priorities.
7. Safeguard the storage of financial records and assist auditors.
8. Foster effective working relationships, provide guidance, and contribute to policy development.
Essential Criteria:
* A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grade C or above), including Maths and English.
* At least 2 years' experience in verification or audit of expenditure, financial accounting, or payroll processing.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience reviewing financial processes and controls.
* Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
* Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
