Financial Controller Location: Runcorn, Cheshire 5 days per week. Reports to: Group Finance Director and Group CFO Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent. 36.5hrs (Mon-Thur 9am-5pm; Fri 9am-4pm) 30 mins lunch break. Salary: £70,000 per annum Role Overview The Financial Controller will lead the finance function across the whole of our clients businesses. The role requires strategic oversight combined with hands-on operational control. We operate to the highest professional standards and consistently exceed the requirements of our industry accreditations, including the FCA, Credit Services Association, Collector Accreditation Initiative, and BSI ISO Standards Role and Tasks Lead, develop and mentor the Finance function ensuring strong financial governance and regulatory compliance. Create a multiskilled finance function with full cross training for business continuity. Ensuring the month end timetable is adhered to by being hands on where required. Ensure client accounts remain compliant, taking corrective action as needed Assist production and review of monthly management accounts for both companies. Ensure accuracy of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow reporting. Manage month end and year end close process. Complete and assist with statutory filling and returns Liaise with external auditors and manage annual audit process. Lead on the Statutory Accounts with support from the Group Finance Director and Group CFO. MI reporting / KPI Dashboard for key performance tracking across the business. Testing operational and financial processes for points of failure. Bank approvals for all outgoing payments. Manage risk register. Review the credit control function and processes. Implement process efficiencies. Preparation of weekly payroll and look to bring the full process in house. Processing of the weekly pensions and reconciliations. Assist set up new verticals of the business including accounting software set up and reporting. Assist the build of a rolling 5 year forecast for the group. Evaluate potential financial systems upgrades.
