We are looking for compassionate, resilient support workers who can provide steady, nurturing care to children and young people in this brand new home opening in Mansfield for a very establish service provider covering maily days shifts with only 2 sleep-ins contracted per month! We are open to candidates without children's residential experience but who have worked in similar services. The young people you’ll support will be aged between 7-17 and have faced challenging and sometimes traumatic experiences. This can mean heightened behaviours, or moments of distress that require patience, resilience, and a calm, confident presence. But alongside these challenges come the breakthroughs—the small steps forward, the laughter, the trust, and the achievements that remind you why this work matters. In this role, you’ll help young people feel safe, valued, and supported to grow. You’ll build genuine relationships, be consistent and reliable, and use therapeutic approaches like DDP and PACE to help them make sense of their world. Location: Mansfield Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) Salary: £30,500 - £32,500 Shift Pattern: The role operates on a 1 on, 2 off shift pattern covering day shifts with only two contracted sleep-ins per month (included within the standard salary). Any additional sleep-ins worked will be paid at a rate of £60 per sleep-in. What We’re Looking For · Previous experience in residential childcare, youth work, or other care roles is desirable. · Willingness to undertake all training required for the role, including the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and therapeutic training in DDP. · A caring and compassionate approach, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships. Responsibilities * Provide high-quality, consistent care: for the young person in line with their placement and care plans. * Safeguard: the young person always, following policies and procedures * Personal Care: Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. * Support Plans: Develop and implement individualised support plans tailored to each resident's needs and goals. * Medication Management: Administer medications and monitor health conditions, ensuring accurate record-keeping. * Skill Development: Encourage and facilitate skill-building activities to promote independence and self-confidence. * Emotional Support: Provide emotional and psychological support, fostering a positive and inclusive environment. * Community Integration: Assist residents in participating in community activities and social events. * Household Tasks: Help with household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry to maintain a comfortable living environment. * Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
