HGV Class 2 Driver (Temp to Perm)
Salary: £41,000 per year
Location: Brentwood (with deliveries into London and surrounding areas)
About the Role
Driver Hire Chelmsford and Harlow are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Multidrop Driver on behalf of our client, a well-established distributor of fresh and frozen meats. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products and excellent customer service across the hospitality sector.
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity (12 weeks) with a clear pathway to a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver fresh and frozen products to high-end hotels and restaurants
2. Complete 10–12 drops per day efficiently and on time
3. Ensure all deliveries are made in good condition and handled professionally
4. Safely operate an HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicle
5. Load and unload goods, ensuring all items are secured correctly
6. Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
7. Use the tachograph system correctly and comply with driving hours regulations
8. Maintain full compliance with DVSA and road transport legislation
9. Represent the company professionally at all times
10. Accurately complete delivery paperwork and report any issues
11. Keep the vehicle clean, tidy, and presentable
Requirements
12. Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
13. Valid Driver CPC qualification
14. Digital Tachograph Card
15. 6 months preferred experience driving 18-tonne vehicles in a multi-drop environment
16. Experience using cages and tail lifts
17. Clean driving licence (maximum 3 points)
18. Good knowledge of driving hours, vehicle checks, and load security
19. Ability to load and unload the vehicle
20. Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
21. Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused
