Working under the guidance of the Head Coach, the post holder will assist in implementing the coaching framework and philosophy, contribute to player development both technically and physically, and ensure effective preparation for training and fixtures. This role will also involve supporting administrative tasks, player monitoring, and helping to maintain a safe, professional, and motivating environment. Responsibilities Football Coaching Support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of engaging football coaching sessions in line with the programme’s philosophy. Assist with matchday preparation, warm-ups, in-game support, and post-match analysis. Provide individual and small group coaching to aid technical, tactical, and decision-making development. Build positive relationships with players, parents, and coaching staff to support the overall development journey. Strength & Conditioning Plan & deliver on-pitch athletic development sessions/warm-ups to develop key movement skill competency & physical qualities such as acceleration, deceleration, top-speed & change of direction. Plan & deliver recovery, mobility & injury prehab sessions to players. Proactively manage players training & match-load, ensuring logical weekly loading schedules that physically develop players whilst minimising injury risk. Liaise with coaching staff to integrate S&C work into the wider football programme. Programme Support Maintain accurate registers, attendance records, and any required monitoring data. Ensure training and gym equipment is set up, maintained, and stored safely. Support with administrative duties such as updating databases, completing risk assessments, and preparing reports as required. Uphold safeguarding responsibilities, reporting concerns promptly to the appropriate safeguarding officer. Participate in relevant training, CPD, and quality assurance processes provided by the Trust. Recognised Strength & Conditioning qualification (e.g., UKSCA, NSCA CSCS, or equivalent) or relevant experience delivering S&C programmes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of safeguarding and welfare in youth sport. Previous experience coaching football at academy, or college level. Experience working in Multiple disciplinary Team (MDT) Desirable: FA UEFA C Bachelor’s degree in Sports Coaching, Strength & Conditioning, or related field. Experience working with players aged 16–19. First Aid qualification. Full UK driving licence (D1 minibus licence desirable). Competent with Microsoft Office Personal Qualities: Positive, supportive, and professional approach with young athletes. Passionate about player development, both technically and physically. Organised, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
