Summary Formwork carpenters contribute to the construction of projects through the preparation, installation & quality management of all stages of the formwork & falsework process. Preparing falsework that provides temporary support structures for forms & undertake formwork. As a project-led business, the location of our work can vary depending on project needs. Start date may change. 40 hours a week Start date Monday 3 August 2026 Duration 1 year 5 months Positions available 1 Work Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience. What you'll do at work Form and assemble horizontal and vertical formwork as per design drawings and repair, erect and strike formworking Erect, Strike formwork/falsework and its components for a range of applications including wall, slabs/bases, columns, beams and precast units to support concrete Competent to safely use, store and maintain hand tools, power tools and ancillary equipment Where you'll work Huddersfield Road Halifax HX3 0PW Training Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. Training provider CITB Training course Formworker (level 2) Understanding apprenticeship levels (opens in new tab) What you'll learn Course contents Communicate in a clear and appropriate manner (verbal, written, body language). Adjusts communication to suit different situations, individuals or teams. Apply general workplace health, safety and welfare requirements when undertaking construction formworking/falseworking activities. Practice safe working techniques for moving, lifting and handling traditional and proprietary formwork system; which will include working at heights and using access equipment. Demonstrate knowledge of planning and able to undertake different methods of construction used to build structures productively. Competent to read, interpret and apply information from drawings, specifications and construction information. Takes ownership of allocated projects and effectively manages own time. Use a range of methods used to communicate workplace requirements effectively and demonstrate how key personnel should communicate effectively within a team. Requirements Essential qualifications GCSE in: 3 GCSEs or equivalent including Math & English (grade At least grade 4) Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience.
