Role Overview
We are seeking a talented Integration Developer with 1–2 years of commercial experience to join our development team in Newcastle upon Tyne. The successful candidate will work on custom integrations and bespoke projects centred around Sage Intacct, helping schools and educational organisations streamline their financial workflows.
This role focuses on building robust integrations across multiple technology platforms, tailored to the education sector. You will collaborate closely with our internal teams and clients to deliver exceptional user experiences and seamless financial solutions.
Please note, this role requires a minimum of 3 days per week in the Newcastle office. You must be a resident of Great Britain and not require visa sponsorship.
What You'll Be Doing
* Design, develop, and maintain integrations with Sage Intacct and other platforms.
* Build and support web applications that complement accounting workflows.
* Develop scalable, reliable solutions across both back-end and front-end layers.
* Support front-end development using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and frameworks like React or Vue.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
* Optimise code and applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
* Follow best practices in code quality, testing, documentation, and version control.
What you will bring:
* 1–2 years of commercial software development experience.
* Solid understanding of systems integration and RESTful APIs.
* Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, or ).
* Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL).
* Experience with version control systems such as Git.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Desirable Skills
* Experience working with accounting or financial software (Sage Intacct highly desirable).
* Background in the education sector or experience delivering software to public sector clients.
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
