Conference and Events Manager - Excel London, E16 1XL | Full-Time / Permanent
£37,000 + excellent benefits including healthcare, wellbeing support, 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance, meals on duty, and more.
The role
As a Conference & Events Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of event operations, leading and developing your event team to deliver outstanding service. You will manage people, health & safety compliance, financial performance, and client relations, while driving operational excellence and supporting growth. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance operational detail with each eventeels unique vision.
What we’re looking for
* Lead, motivate, and develop the operations team to deliver exceptional service across all events.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company regulations, embedding a strong safety culture.
* Manage financial performance through cost control, reporting and staff scheduling.
* Support client relationships with our Sales & Events Team, ensuring all requirements are met before, during, and after events.
* Take ownership of the planning of your events, liaising with all relevant internal departments to ensure that all areas of your event needs are met.
* Drive customer satisfaction initiatives and provide detailed feedback to continuously improve service.
* Uphold company standards, policies, and values, ensuring operational excellence at all times.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, finance, logistics, and HR, to achieve shared goals.
Qualifications & experience
* Experience in a demanding hospitality, events, or food & beverage environment (essential).
* Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
* Strong client and customer focus with a passion for service excellence.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt, innovate, and lead through change.
* Collaborative, enthusiastic, and solutions-focused approach.
* Experience in conference & banqueting, meeting and events or stand catering operations.
