The post holder is responsible for ensuring the effective management of the Gynaecology Outpatient Department and Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU) over a 24-hour period.
They will provide clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team, supervising assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care to ensure that nursing and corporate standards are maintained and measured.
Actively supports patients and their families, communicating difficult and complex information using a variety of methods to ensure effective understanding.
Ensures staff are updated on service changes and have opportunities to communicate concerns.
Acts as a role model and mentor to the nursing team.
Provides visible clinical leadership and authoritative presence, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
Utilizes professional knowledge to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement care interventions for patients. Provides advice to junior staff on nursing issues daily.
