Main duties of the job

* Support commissioning teams to ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects is planned, managed and delivered effectively.
* Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring spends, implementation and evaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high quality support including complex information and analysis, communications and stakeholder management.
* Use a variety of analytical techniques to provide high quality, timely analysis and intelligence relating to key priorities of Specialised Services. These priorities will include assurance and accountability, commissioning, transformation, quality and safety, finance and policy and strategy development.
* Support the management and implementation of the informatics contract.
* Work closely with and support the regional finance function.
* Maintain a close working relationship with providers.
* Model future levels of hospital activity.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Applicants from outside the NHS will typically be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

Successful candidates will undergo an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) via the Electronic Staff Record system (ESR), which gathers relevant employment details to support onboarding. You may opt out of this process during recruitment if you wish.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Studying for an informatics or finance-related degree, seeking a placement year.
* Educated to A-level or equivalent in a relevant subject, or possess significant relevant experience.


Knowledge and Experience

* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
* Experience working in an administrative environment with computerised data systems.
* Experience in a healthcare setting.
* Familiarity with various health service provisions.


Skills and Capabilities

* Effective communication skills, including good writing, data entry, and telephone manner.
* Ability to work well in a team and independently, managing workload and deadlines.
* Positive, respectful, and collaborative attitude.
* Continuous improvement mindset, open to innovation.
