As part of a growing finance team, the Financial Accountant will play a vital role in supporting the business’s expanding needs. The role involves ownership of key financial control activities and direct contribution to strategic and operational financial initiatives.
Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements under IFRS/UK GAAP.
Strengthen internal controls and financial processes, with a focus on standardization and automation.
Provide technical accounting input for complex transactions, including structured financial instruments.
Manage audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance financial reporting and planning.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Contribute to wider business improvement and financial strategy projects.
Regulatory Compliance
Maintain up-to-date financial policies and governance documentation.
Ensure compliance with current accounting and financial regulatory standards.
Meet all applicable regulatory reporting obligations.
Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP, IFRS), with the ability to explain complex concepts simply.
Highly organized and accountable for core finance responsibilities.
Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with proven experience in financial control.
Previous experience in regulated financial services, ideally in retail banking or a fast-paced fintech environment.
Advanced Excel skills and working SQL knowledge (including ability to run ad-hoc queries).
