This role requires a patient and understanding individual who can offer comprehensive care and companionship, ideally six days per week from Sunday to Friday.Key Responsibilities:* Assist with all aspects of personal care, including daily showers, toileting, grooming, and incontinence management* Provide encouragement and assistance with feeding* Administer and prompt medication as prescribed* Support mobility, as the client has weakened walking ability and requires assistance* Engage in companionship activities, including storytelling and gentle conversation* Implement distraction techniques when necessary* Maintain a safe and comfortable living environment* Collaborate with the live-in housekeeper to ensure comprehensive careCare Requirements:* Experience in dementia care, particularly vascular dementia* Understanding of cognitive impairment and short-term memory loss* Ability to assist with all aspects of personal care* Patience and excellent communication skills* Proficiency in mobility assistance for someone with weakened walking ability* Knowledge of incontinence management (moderate degree, using pull-up pads)* Comfortable with night-time assistance when requiredSchedule and Living Arrangements:* Full-time live-in position* Private accommodation provided within the client's home* Time off and break arrangements to be discussedClient Profile:* Elderly female with vascular dementia* Requires assistance with most daily activities* Has a history of strokes and high blood pressure* Experiences vision impairment (loss of peripheral vision on both sides)Ideal Candidate:We are looking for a carer who is not only skilled in dementia care but also has a warm, patient demeanor.
