Role: Analytical Chemistry (Environmental Chemistry) Technical Assessor
Part-Time Contract Role
Location: Remote, UK-wide coverage
We are seeking a part-time Independent Technical Assessor specialising in Environmental Chemistry.
This independent, self-employed position involves ensuring that accredited laboratories comply with pollution control standards. The role requires extensive knowledge in monitoring water, soil, and air for composition and contamination, as well as understanding relevant regulatory requirements.
This is an independent contracted position, and ongoing right to work in the UK is a pre-requisite.

Experience Required:
* Experience in an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited testing laboratory analyzing environmental samples
* Expertise in testing soils, water, and air samples using organic or inorganic techniques
* Strong foundation in general chemistry, wet chemistry, and instrumental techniques
* Understanding of quality control processes and data integrity requirements
* Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication
* Experience working within UK standards and regulatory frameworks
Key Skills:
* Supporting and developing technical aspects of quality systems in accredited laboratories
* Practical experience in relevant sectors
* Knowledge of industry-standard methods and schemes like DWTS and MCERTS
* Experience with laboratory audits is beneficial
* Strong communication skills across organizational levels
Guidance will be provided to improve your report writing skills to UKAS standards, focusing on ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and UKAS systems.
