We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join our facilities team dedicated to an important government contract. Working across multiple assessment centres across the South Coast, you’ll deliver planned and reactive commercial gas maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and fully functional heating and hot water systems.
Job Description
This is a mobile role, ideal for someone with strong commercial gas engineering experience who enjoys independence and variety. You’ll carry out servicing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis on a range of gas‑fired systems, supporting both planned schedules and urgent callouts. As the seasons change you would be required to deliver a more multiskilled portfolio of maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake reactive and planned commercial gas maintenance across multiple sites.
* Service, repair, and maintain gas‑fired boilers, water heaters, and associated plant.
* Diagnose and resolve faults safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with gas safety regulations.
* Complete all works to agreed service levels and maintain accurate job records via PDA/CAFM system.
* Participate in the on‑call rota to support urgent issues out of hours.
* Maintain excellent communication with the helpdesk, colleagues, and site staff.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Proven experience as a commercial gas engineer in multi‑site environments.
* Hold valid commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1/1A, etc.).
* Have strong knowledge of heating systems, boilers, and associated plant.
* Comfortable using tablets or computers for job logging and documentation.
* Be willing to participate in an on‑call rota (enhanced pay).
* Hold a full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).
