About the Company
We are a growing contractor specialising in industrial and commercial fit-out projects, delivering high-quality refurbishment and interior construction across warehouses, offices, retail spaces, and industrial facilities. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team and support the successful delivery of projects across the Midlands and surrounding regions.
Role Overview
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial and commercial fit-out projects. Working closely with the commercial and project teams, you will analyse tender documentation, source subcontractor quotations, and ensure all submissions are completed professionally and on time.
Key Responsibilities
* Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to understand project scope.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial fit-out works including refurbishments and interior construction.
* Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
* Prepare and submit competitive tender submissions and cost plans.
* Conduct site visits where required to assess project requirements.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams during the tender process.
* Identify value engineering opportunities to improve project competitiveness.
* Maintain accurate cost databases and records.
* Support project handover to the delivery team following successful bids.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as an Estimator in construction or fit-out projects.
* Experience in commercial, industrial, or refurbishment sectors.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (desirable).
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience with commercial or industrial interior fit-out projects.
* Knowledge of UK construction procurement processes.
