We are looking for a knowledgeable HR professional to join our HR Policy and Advice team, providing advice and guidance on all aspects of HR and supporting the council to be an employer of choice through best practice HR policies and procedures.
As HR Adviser, you will play a key role in reviewing and shaping HR policies and procedures to ensure they support the council to deliver the outcomes in the 2023-2028 People Strategy and support implementation of key projects and change initiatives under the People Strategy workplan. You will also review policies and procedures for legal compliance with a key focus on supporting the council to meet its obligations under the new Employment Rights Bill over the next two years.
You will work closely with colleagues in HR Services and build positive working relationships with managers across the organisation and trade union colleagues.
About you
The candidate should be a graduate member of the CIPD or have an equivalent HR Management qualification with HR experience in a unionised organisation.
You will be customer focused with excellent interpersonal, influencing and analytical skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
You will be adaptive and comfortable managing your own diary and workload with minimum supervision.
