Job Specification: Mechanical Estimator
Overview: A leading M&E fitout contractor is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing. This role involves analyzing drawings, engaging with suppliers and clients, and ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Estimating: Prepare detailed mechanical estimates, review project requirements, and create cost breakdowns.
2. Supplier Engagement: Obtain and negotiate quotes from suppliers/subcontractors.
3. Client Interaction: Clarify project needs, attend meetings, and provide technical support.
4. Risk Management: Identify risks, propose value engineering options, and ensure compliance with standards.
5. Documentation: Maintain records and produce reports for management.
Qualifications:
6. 5+ years’ experience in mechanical estimating, with knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
7. Proficient in estimating software and Excel, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
8. Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
