An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contract Manager to join our Procurement and Commercial team to support our SSEN Transmission business. The role will be responsible for supporting Supply Chain Benchmarking and Cost Intelligence activities within the Procurement and Commercial team.
SSEN Transmission is at the heart of the just transition to net zero in the UK. In the coming years, our network will be pivotal in connecting and transporting the power needed to decarbonise the UK’s electricity network and in doing so power the UK’s net‑zero and energy security ambitions. Our business is rapidly growing, to deliver the largest investment package that Scotland’s electricity system has ever seen, with a projected investment programme of over £20bn+ in the next 10 years. This role will support the delivery of this ambitious investment programme.
To successfully operate within a regulated business environment, we require you to monitor, control, analyse and report on all Procurement and Commercial matters across the portfolio.
Responsibilities
* Utilise Procurement and Commercial information to produce benchmarking and cost intelligence outputs that inform strategic decision‑making.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external supply chain to strengthen the quality and reliability of benchmarking and cost intelligence data.
* Serve as a key point of contact across the organisation and within the wider Procurement & Commercial function to ensure accurate and consistent capture of supply chain data.
* Gather, analyse, and interpret data; transforming findings into actionable insights that shape commercial strategies, and support regulatory engagement.
* Maintain and advance reporting platforms using tools such as Power BI, Excel, corporate systems, and market intelligence to deliver accessible, dynamic, and insightful reporting.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability to manage, interpret, and consolidate complex supply chain data, supported by strong analytical skills.
* Proven experience and capability in procurement and commercial activities.
* A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and delivering measurable outcomes.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly and influence decision‑making.
* Understanding of the industry in which the company operates, including market dynamics and regulatory requirements.
