Job Title: Service Manager – Social Care Finance and Deputyship Contract: Permanent Location: Hybrid Hours: 37 Salary: £55,594 to £61,655 Closing date: Sunday 18 th May 2025 Interview: To be confirmed The role We are looking for a proven leader to oversee and lead a newly formed service comprising our Welfare and Financial Assessment Team, Direct Payments Team and Appointee and Deputyship Team. Based in the All-Ages Commissioning function, you will use your skills and experience to lead the service to deliver income maximisation, debt prevention and successful debt recovery where necessary that is compliant with all relevant legislation and guidance. You will also oversee and manage the Council’s Court of Protection and Department for Work and Pensions Appointee application process and managing income when appointed. The role will involve working with Adult Social Care staff, care providers, client family members, solicitors, making payments on time whilst maintaining financial controls and promoting a good standard of service. About You You will be enthusiastic and ambitious to deliver results, with a broad understanding of charging and debt recovery legislation, ideally with a strong management background, or with experience working at a relatively senior level within one of these areas. Your high-level interpersonal skills will lend themselves well to this role as will your ability to forge strong relationships and use purposeful and clear communication to deliver your messages. You will have a good understanding of the business needs for adult social care services and an ability to deliver practical and customer-focused solutions to meet these needs, including leading on member enquiries, charging complaints investigation and resolution. As part of leading your service, you will focus on maximising the opportunities for personal and staff development to ensure you and your teams are the best they can be. You will continuously be striving to drive up the quality-of-service provision and the collection rate of care charges, whilst ensuring residents are provided with comprehensive accurate information on paying for care in the most efficient and effective way.
