Join Essex County Council's School Crossing Patrol Team as a School Crossing Patrol Officer at Kingston Primary School - Kenneth Road entrance, Thundersley. Support children crossing safely in the morning and afternoon.
We seek a punctual, reliable, approachable individual who enjoys engaging with the public.
This role involves approximately 6 hours 15 minutes per week, including holiday pay, during the 39-week academic year. Work hours are roughly 08:00 - 09:00 and 14:45 - 15:45, depending on site needs. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of disabled pedestrians, especially those with mobility impairments.
* Maintain contact with the schools served by the crossing.
* Assess risks regularly, report issues and defects to supervisors.
* Assist in preparing reports on incidents at the crossing.
* Keep uniform and equipment in good condition, request replacements as needed.
* Signal clearly to drivers, stopping traffic safely and ensuring pedestrians cross safely.
