Job Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate tutor to support a Year 8 student (L) who requires additional help to re‑engage with learning.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a baseline assessment to identify appropriate starting points.
- Deliver regular tuition sessions to address gaps in foundational knowledge, particularly in English and Maths.
- Support the student’s reintegration into education and help build confidence.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Key Stage 3 English and Maths.
- Experience supporting autistic learners.
- Trauma‑informed and attachment‑aware approach.
- Ability to build a trusting and consistent relationship (essential for successful engagement).
- Ideally local to the student to support longer‑term reintegration.
Additional Considerations
- L can experience social anxiety; a calm, supportive, and patient approach is important.
- May need gradual exposure to learning environments and social situations, with appropriate adult support.
- Time should be allowed for rapport building before academic progress can be expected.
Hours & Flexibility
- Approximately 3 hours per week.
- Flexibility to work around your availability.
- Opportunities to take on additional students if you are looking to increase your hours.
