Start Date: September Training Course: Level 3 HSE Technician Duration: 24 months The Opportunity As an Apprentice HSE Coordinator, you’ll support our HSE function by helping to maintain and improve our safety, health and environmental systems. This entry-level role combines on-the-job learning with a Level 3 Health, Safety & Environmental Technician Apprenticeship, equipping you with the practical skills and technical knowledge to become a qualified HSE professional. Key Accountabilities Assist in the development, implementation and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work. Support COSHH and environmental compliance assessments Help investigate incidents, collate data and monitor trends to identify root causes. Contribute to internal and external HSE audits and maintenance of our ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 systems. Collaborate with operations and project teams to deliver HSE training, including permits-to-work and toolbox talks. Maintain accurate records of HSE activities and produce management reports. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site safety and efficiency. Assist in planning for Safety, Health and Environmental emergencies (e.g. fire drills, spill response). Support behavioural safety initiatives to embed a positive safety culture Essential Requirements Enthusiasm for Health, Safety & Environment and a genuine desire to learn. Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and problem-solving skills. Good interpersonal and communication abilities, comfortable working with colleagues at all levels. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to organise workload, meet deadlines and work both independently and in teams. Desirable Attributes Previous exposure to manufacturing, warehousing or engineering environments. Basic understanding of HSE legislation (e.g. UK Health & Safety at Work Act). Experience of carrying out simple workplace inspections or audits. A-level or equivalent qualifications in STEM or related subjects. Why A-SAFE?
