Posted: 21 September
Offer description

Overview

We have a full-time vacancy in our City and South team based in Trumpington. We are looking for exceptional Social Workers to join us on our journey. There is a great culture, the team is supportive, and there is a willingness to help each other. The Managers are responsive to development needs, and there are opportunities for progression within the service.

This is what our Social Workers said about working in our Community Teams: join a team that is passionate about supporting you to become the Social Worker you want to be. If this sounds like a team you would thrive in, apply today. We have embraced new ways of working to enable a collaborative team environment with strong working relationships with health professionals and partners to achieve better outcomes for the adults we support.

For more information or to chat about this opportunity please contact Claire Law on Claire.Law@ cambridgeshire.gov.uk or 01223 699 892. Our interviews are held virtually by Microsoft Teams to provide a flexible recruitment process, with a virtual assessment that we will outline in advance. For an informal discussion about vacancies, contact Beth on 01480 372 425 or e-mail welovesocialworkers@cambridgeshire.gov.uk.

Appointment to this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

* A relocation package of up to £8,000 (eligibility applies)
* A pay progression scheme to enable you to accelerate through the pay grade as you gain experience and skills
* Scalable retention payments of up to £8,852 over a 3 year period, starting after your first full year of employment, in specific teams
* A Refer a Friend Scheme where if you refer another Social Worker to us who is subsequently employed by us as a result of that introduction, we’ll pay you an introduction fee of £350
* Access to development opportunities, apprenticeships and qualified coaches to support your personal and professional growth

For more information and to see our other benefits, take a look at the benefits brochure attached to this advert.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be liaising with other departments, undertaking Social Care and Mental Capacity Act assessments, completing Safeguarding as well as care and support planning, to achieve better outcomes for the adults we support. You’ll need to be inquisitive and provide evidence-based, proportionate recording with a keen focus on strength-based practice.

We’ll give you the scope to take your own decisions based on your professional judgement and provide ongoing support and challenge to encourage your development.

Our Community Teams are currently working to a hybrid model, with part-remote and flexible options available in line with our service needs. This includes 9 day fortnights and staggered start and finish times. Once fully trained, our Social Workers will work from the office up to three days each week. Office working has proven invaluable to our Social Workers as there are opportunities to share best practice, discuss cases and provide peer support. We hope your practice will benefit greatly from this collaborative working environment.

About you

If you’re a confident and dynamic individual who enjoys making a difference in their local community, we want to hear from you.

You must: Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration; have the ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently.

For a full list of the requirements of the role, please check out the Job Description and Person Specification. Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
