Overview
Barnsley Shared Lives is a family based model of support where Shared Lives carers open up their own home and family life to support vulnerable adults and young people. The service is regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission. We are looking to recruit carers in the Barnsley area who can provide care, support, and accommodation. This support can be full time or respite based, day care or sessional, helping individuals to live a full and meaningful life with you and your family.
Responsibilities
* Provide care, support and accommodation to vulnerable adults and young people.
* Adapt daily routines to meet the person‑centred needs of the residents.
* Work within the Shared Lives framework, following the policies and procedures established by the Shared Lives team.
Qualifications
* Experience in care, either professionally or in a personal capacity.
* Flexibility, reliability and a person‑centred approach.
Benefits
Shared Lives Carers are highly trained and receive regular support from the Shared Lives team. Carers are self‑employed and receive an allowance for the support they provide.
DBS Requirements
This post requires an Enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) check.
If you are currently living overseas or have lived overseas in the last five years, you will be required to apply for an overseas criminal records check from the country or countries you have resided in. If you experience difficulty obtaining such a check, please email dbs@barnsley.gov.uk.
