This role provides product stewardship and regulatory support for the CBG and EPS businesses across the EMEAI region, ensuring compliance with consumer product regulations. It serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory and product safety matters, supports business decisions through impact assessments, and drives harmonization of stewardship processes, SDS, labeling, and regulatory projects.This position is ideally based working hybrid from our site in Sheffield but could also be based near our office in Wokingham, Reading with some travel to Sheffield.

COMPLIANCE SUPPORT

Regulations and regulation review

1. Articulate and apply regulatory requirements relevant for CBG and EPS businesses in the EMEAI region and export destinations. Collaborate with regional colleagues to define aligned approach towards compliance with relevant regulations. Develop compliance strategies for CBG and EPS businesses and sites. Complete regulation reviews and impact assessments without supervision.

2. Act as the subject matter expert on consumer product regulations and drive harmonization of product stewardship processes between all sites producing consumer paint.

Company representation

3. Where appropriate, act as S-W Product Stewardship representative with outside parties such as trade associations, service provider working groups or professional associations.

Data entry/integrity and system support

4. Define business rules for data evaluation. Drive improvement initiatives for systems. Provide management and business support during upgrades of the IA centric software solution for the Consumer business in Sheffield. Drive alignment between all sites running the same software.
5. Prepare, edit and update SDS documents for products managed by CBG Sheffield.

CUSTOMER AND BUSINESS SUPPORT

Customer inquiries

6. Respond to routine, non-routine and complex requests for internal and external customers independently.

Respond and report to agencies

7. Develop responses to Agency inquiries for review by manager and legal team.

Business and data support

8. Serve as the single point of contact to the CBG and EPS businesses for the whole EMEAI region on legislative, regulatory and product safety issues.
Provide support to R&D, Marketing, Sales, Customers and other stakeholders of the CBG and EPS businesses.
Provide strategic support to CBG and EPS businesses based on regulatory requirements. Monitor and articulate issues which will impact S-W products or our customers through annual substitution planning, ad hoc impact assessments and regular communication.
9. Represent Product Stewardship in project meetings.
10. Update internal and customer SDS portals with current documents.
11. Review, propose, and approve the regulatory content of product labels.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Process improvements

12. Identify areas of process improvement and communication. Assist in defining process or system changes necessary to address new or changing regulations

Projects

13. Lead complex product stewardship projects. Participate in less complex cross-functional projects.

Training

14. Provide training and seminars for business team members or other groups within S-W on current trends in product stewardship.
15. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a scientific discipline such as chemistry, engineering, industrial hygiene, or related field
16. Master’s degree preferred, with specialization in polymer chemistry desirable.

Knowledge and experience

17. Minimum 3 years’ experience in Product Stewardship function or equivalent experience in related fields
18. Managing chemical raw material and finished good regulatory requirements in the EMEAI region, such as REACH, CLP (EU, UK) and BPR.
19. Customer inquiry handling.

Preferred:

20. 6 years’ experience in product stewardship function or equivalent experience in related fields
21. Experience with global regulatory requirements, specifically UK regulations.
22. SDS/label authoring experience
23. Experience in paint & coatings or chemical industry
24. Experience with product stewardship of consumer products
25. Technical skills

Required:

26. Skilled use of a variety of IT applications, including regulatory, product formulation, and ERP systems
27. Strong data analysis skills
28. English fluency

Preferred:

29. Product development experience
30. Experience in project management
