Around each Village, the Food and Beverage department employs around 350 team members across nine different restaurants, cafés and bars, as well as a production kitchen. There’s also a further five concessionary units including well-known brands such as Bella Italia and Café Rouge. KITCHEN TEAM LEADER / CHEF DE PARTIE | £14.18 per hour
All colleagues working in our full-service restaurants (Rajinda Pradesh, Huck’s, The Pancake House, Foresters’ Inn, Lakeside Inn, Bella Italia, Café Rouge, Las Iguanas and Amalfi) will benefit from the discretionary service charge we add to bills. We are looking for a Kitchen Team Leader (Chef de Partie) to join our busy team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting food to agreed company standards.
Excellent communication skills are required as you will provide general supervision and coaching to all junior staff, ensuring the personal development of the junior team. You will also deputise for the Assistant Kitchen Manager in their absence, supervising the unit chefs to maintain the smooth running of the kitchen.
Other responsibilities will include assisting with the management of the cost of sales for your unit through effective use of the company ordering system, stock and portion control and minimising food wastage.
HOURS OF WORK
Working straight shifts, you will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period. Shifts will typically fall between 7:30am and 11:30pm.
As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential requirements:
1. Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate (or demonstrate experience / knowledge of Health & Safety / hygiene requirements in a kitchen)
2. A formal cooking qualification
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
4. Previous experience as a Kitchen Supervisor / Chef de Partie in a small establishment or experience in a more junior position within a larger kitchen, including supervisory and training responsibilities
