A Bank locum Consultant Radiologist position is available to join our dedicated Radiology team at NHS Dumfries and Galloway. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-quality imaging service within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The successful applicant will join the existing complement of 6 whole-time equivalent (WTE) Radiologists, Advance Practitioner Radiographers, Radiographers, Sonographers, Nurses and Administrative support workers based at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI). The department benefits from a well-established outsourcing arrangement for overnight on-call service, ensuring a sustainable and balanced workload for the team.
You will provide a broad range of diagnostic radiology services, sharing workload across CT, MRI, ultrasound, and plain film reporting. Subspecialty interests are welcomed. The post includes participation in the general radiology on-call rota.
You will work closely with colleagues across multiple specialties, contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, and support the education of junior doctors. We are committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development, and we welcome applicants who share these values.
Applicants should be preferably on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCST or Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR(CP) at the time of interview for the post.
