Senior Data Governance Manager
Lead the data governance strategy for DWP Digital. You will champion the Data Ownership model, implement the Data Quality Framework, and iteratively improve governance processes across the organisation.

Responsibilities
* Implement and maintain the DWP Data Strategy and governance frameworks.
* Lead high‑priority initiatives such as rolling out Data Ownership and Data Quality frameworks.
* Ensure compliance with policy and legislation across all data initiatives.
* Advise senior leaders on governance approaches and standards.
* Mentor and develop the data governance community within the organisation.
* Contribute to strategic programmes, including government‑wide data initiatives.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience designing and implementing Data Governance Frameworks and sub‑frameworks, including Data Quality Frameworks, policies, and best practices.
* Proven ability to advise on governance approaches, set strategic direction, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
* Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for non‑technical audiences.
* Strong analytical and risk‑management skills, capable of identifying key issues and mitigating data‑related risks.
* Strategic thinking with the ability to align activities with organisational priorities, policies, and goals.
* Industry knowledge of leading data management and governance practices and experience managing multiple competing priorities with flexibility and resilience.

Location: One of our digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield – whichever is most convenient.
Hybrid Working: A hybrid model that balances home and face‑to‑face collaboration in the hub.
Pay: Up to £68,205 p.a.
Pension: Civil Service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%.
