About the Role
As we look to strengthen our place in the supply chain to support leading aerospace OEM’s such as Rolls Royce, Airbus and BAE, we have an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer. This is a busy and interesting role that offers variety in relation to the parts you will be working on. You will be an integral part of the team, providing support and guidance as well as working closely with our customers throughout the process.
This is a permanent position based in Burnley. The standard shift is Monday to Friday with an early finish on Friday. Hourly rate is dependent upon experience and is backed up with available overtime, company pension, private healthcare, dental care, tech and EV Car schemes and discounted gym membership.
Core Responsibilities
* Working to customer specifications and strict aerospace standards
* Operating and programming 3-4-5 axis CNC machines
* Ensure all jigs and tooling are correct for each job
* Assisting with the production of designs for tooling and equipment using 3D Cad technology
* Raise any engineering issues and communicate effectively with the necessary internal departments
* Recommend and implement improvements.
* Working on a variety of different jobs/parts.
* Ensure all jobs launched internally from the department have the required tooling, programs and plannings.
* To highlight any quality deficiencies or opportunities to improve current quality of planning’s products and processes.
* Help and drive continuous improvement and highlight potential for cost reduction
What are we looking for?
* Time Served/Apprentice Trained
* CNC Programming experience is desired
* Experience with 3, 4 and 5 Axis machines
* Good understanding of Aerospace standards and processes
* Experience with moving components, widgets, nuts and bolts.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing.
* A conventional machining background is preferred.
* Experience in Turning, Milling, EDM, Multi-Axis Machining, 3D Modelling.
* Proactive approach to work and good communication skills
