Full-Time Behaviour Support Assistant

Position: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Bolton
Availability: Full-time only (Monday–Friday)
Start Date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to work within a specialist provision that forms part of a well-established organisation supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, and barriers to engagement. This organisation provides targeted youth support, therapeutic interventions, and a specialist SEMH education and wellbeing provision designed to re-engage vulnerable young people in learning and personal development.

You will join a committed team whose approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and designed to help young people build resilience, regulate behaviour, and develop confidence. The environment is supportive, nurturing, and structured to help learners overcome significant social and emotional challenges.

Your Role Will Include:

* Supporting young people 1:1 and in small groups to manage behaviour and re-engage in learning.
* Using de-escalation strategies, restorative practice and consistent boundaries.
* Assisting with personalised behaviour plans, therapeutic activities, and wellbeing interventions.
* Helping pupils develop essential skills including emotional regulation, communication and problem-solving.
* Supporting off-site activities where required (e.g. community-based learning, outreach sessions)
* Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma, exclusion, or long-term disengagement.

Requirements:

* Full-time availability (essential) – Monday to Friday.
* A calm, patient and resilient approach when supporting challenging behaviour.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Full UK driving licence.
* A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.

What We Offer:

* Competitive weekly pay.
* Access to CPD including SEMH training, de-escalation strategies, safeguarding and more.
* Ongoing guidance from a specialist consultant.
* Long-term placement with potential for progression.
* Opportunity to make a genuine impact on the lives of young people facing significant challenges.

If you’re passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and helping them find stability, confidence, and direction in their lives, we want to hear from you.
