DT Art and Design Teacher

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled DT Art and Design Teacher to join a secondary school in Lancaster on a long-term basis. This role is ideal for a candidate who is immediately available and eager to contribute to the educational journey of students by delivering high-quality Art and Design lessons.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Deliver engaging and educational Art and Design lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels, with potential involvement at KS5.
* Utilize strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to encourage academic growth.
* Develop and adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to meet the needs of all students.
* Collaborate with other teaching staff to enhance the curriculum and share best teaching practices.
* Participate in school events and activities related to the Art and Design department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
* Recent and relevant experience teaching Art and Design at KS3 and KS4; experience at KS5 is advantageous.
* Demonstrated ability to be an excellent classroom practitioner with effective classroom management skills.
* Reliable, committed, and capable of inspiring students.
* Exhibits qualities of a good role model such as compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to be patient and confident when working with children.
