Learning Support Assistant
We’re looking for a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist SEN school in Devizes. This LSA role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a meaningful impact every day.
The Role – Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with pupils aged 11–16, helping them learn, communicate and feel confident. Your day as an LSA will involve:
Offering 1:1 LSA support and small-group assistance to help pupils stay focused and engaged.
Supporting children with a wide range of needs including ASD, sensory needs, PMLD, communication differences, physical difficulties and SEMH.
Creating a calm, supportive learning environment that helps each pupil progress at their own pace.
Assisting with personal care, feeding and mobility when required (training can be arranged).
Building strong, trusted relationships with pupils and staff members.
Working alongside teachers, therapists and fellow Learning Support Assistants to provide consistent, high-quality support.
Using visual resources, structured routines or communication tools when needed.
Every day as an LSA is different, and every day brings small but important wins.

Requirements for the Learning Support Assistant Role
To be considered for this LSA role, you should:
Be patient, reliable and adaptable.
Have some experience supporting children or young people (formal or informal).
Be comfortable supporting pupils with additional or complex needs, including personal care.
Work well within a team and communicate clearly.
Preferably hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
Be open to further LSA training and development.
Salary
£445 - £500 per week, dependent on experience.
