The brief
As Finance Director you'll own the full finance agenda; strategy, control and performance, while advising the CEO/Board and leading a capable team (Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Purchase Ledger, Credit Control and Finance Admin). This role is ideal for a high-potential leader stepping up to their first FD seat or a Head of/No.2 ready for a bigger FD remit.
What you'll lead
* Set finance & accounting strategy; act as CEO/Board adviser and business partner.
* Full ownership of financial control, reporting and compliance (statutory, audit, tax).
* Robust budgeting/forecasting, FP&A, KPIs and decision support across the business.
* Working capital, cashflow and revenue management (pricing/margin, profitability).
* Continuous improvement of processes, controls and ERP/CRM usage.
* Team leadership: objectives, development and high-standards culture.
* Corporate finance activity as required (capex cases, debt, disposals/acquisitions).
* Build strong external relationships (banks, advisors, auditors).
About you
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA); strong post-qualification experience.
* Product-environment background (e.g., retail, distribution, manufacturing).
* Proven people leader; hands-on, commercially sharp, calm under pace.
* Excellent FP&A, cash and controls; confident with ERP/CRM and Excel.
* Comfortable challenging assumptions and driving change with integrity.
