We’re seeking a talented Construction and Casualty Underwriter to join our growing team based in Elmstead Market. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring and retaining profitable business while underwriting within delegated authority.
As the UK Commercial MGA for Everywhen, a Gold-rated Investor in Customer insurance business, Geo specializes in Agriculture, Construction, Property, Liability, Marine, and Protection lines.
What does the role involve?
You will assess and evaluate risks, manage portfolios, and drive underwriting results. Responsibilities include:
* Underwrite renewal risks under delegated binding authorities.
* Handle mid-term adjustments.
* Ensure renewal documents are accurately produced and recorded.
* Maintain high-quality underwriting and record keeping.
* Negotiate renewals and chase renewal confirmations.
* Maintain a profitable book of business.
* Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders.
What experience is needed?
* Ideally CII qualified or working towards it.
* Previous property underwriting experience.
* Experience within an MGA environment and understanding of binding authority guidelines is advantageous.
* Knowledge of legal and regulatory insurance frameworks.
* IT Skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
