Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Bristol (Hybrid)
Join Rolls-Royce as an Electrical Design Engineer and contribute to the development of cutting-edge Aerospace Engine Test Facilities supporting both Civil and Defence programmes. Based in Bristol, this role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact infrastructure projects that support upcoming programmes — some of the most exciting engineering challenges.
You will be part of the global Measurement & Test Engineering organisation, playing a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining world-class test capabilities for our next-generation gas turbine engines.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
As part of the Technical Authority for Aerospace Engine Test Facilities, based in Bristol, supporting current and future programmes, your responsibilities include:
* Developing electrical engineering designs and calculations
* Leading requirements capture and converting them into detailed design solutions
* Producing specifications, technical reports, and verification schedules
* Overseeing manufacture, installation, testing, and inspection of systems
* Supporting design reviews, peer approvals, and ensuring safety and compliance standards are met
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We seek engineers prioritizing safety, integrity, and collaboration. Ideally, candidates will have:
* A HND/HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
* Experience in electrical design and technical documentation
* Project environment experience with planning and execution skills
* Knowledge of British Standards and electrical design principles (e.g., BS7671)
* Proactive, team-oriented approach with excellent communication skills
Additional advantageous experience includes:
* Control & Instrumentation (C&I) design (BS6739)
* Functional safety (IEC 61508/61511)
* Electrical design software (e.g., Amtech), Siemens NX / Teamcenter
* Working towards IEng or CEng status
