Join our dynamic team at LNG Grain as a Principal Category Manager, reporting to the Head of Maintenance. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Business Units to deliver innovative commercial and procurement strategies for major projects and programmes.
As a key player in our organization at LNG Grain, you will work alongside business functions to execute procurement strategies and drive successful outcomes. You will coordinate across various procurement functions, including Category Managers, Supply Chain and Strategic Suppliers ensuring seamless execution of commercial strategies for the terminal.

This role is based from our world-class facility in the Isle of Grain, Kent, and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. Please note, due to the location of the site you must have a full UK driving licence.
What you'll do
* Collaborate with business partners and Business Units to identify support needs and prepare effectively
* Develop procurement and supply chain strategies aligned with Business Unit priorities while considering impact to the terminal.
* Recommend resourcing for project teams, balancing internal and external needs in accordance with policies.
* Coordinate cost estimation efforts to inform project and terminal budgets.
* Co-define sourcing strategies with category leads and lead agreed sourcing activities as necessary.
* Define the overall delivery model for programs/projects, including commercial constructs and go-to-market approaches.
* Drive successful execution of programs/projects, including supplier coordination and claims management.
* Ensure procurement activities remain within budget and maintain financial oversight.
* Proactively assess and mitigate procurement-related risks, communicating regularly with stakeholders.
* Foster strong relationships with category leads and business partners to promote a collaborative approach.
* Develop recommendations for strategic business partners to secure buy-in from stakeholders.
* Translate stakeholder recommendations into actionable requirements for procurement team.
* Lead strategic supplier engagement for specific Business Unit/function suppliers.
* Manage and develop a motivated, innovative team focused on delivering value and achieving strategic objectives.
What you'll need
* Experience of end-to-end procurement or supply chain program management or project development.
* Experience of broad, supply chain management in complex environments.
* Ability to communicate dynamically at all levels within the business and externally to senior leaders within supplier organisations.
* Experience of building high performing teams.
* Good understanding of broader business objectives.
* Proven level of negotiation and dispute resolution skill set.
* Experience with cross-functional collaborative working methods.
* Demonstrable level of problem-solving experience and in large, complex projects
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £61,000 - £74,000 per annum– dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
