About Neurokind Space CIC

Neurokind Space CIC is a neuroaffirming holiday provision designed to meet the needs of neurodivergent children and young people. We are committed to creating psychologically safe, inclusive spaces where children can be authentically themselves without pressure to mask or conform. Our approach is evidence-informed and shaped by both lived and professional expertise. We aim to foster co-regulation, autonomy, sensory safety, and meaningful engagement through accessible activities delivered in small, well-supported groups.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES TO WORK 2-5 DAYS DURING EACH SCHOOL HOLIDAY AT OUR HOLIDAY PROVISION WORKING WITH CHILDREN AGED 5-12 WITH SEND NEEDS.

Role Overview – Inclusion Facilitator (Holiday Club)

Neurokind Space CIC runs specialist holiday provision for neurodivergent children and young people. Our approach is needs-led, inclusive, and built around co-regulation, low-demand interaction, and proactive support.

Inclusion Facilitators are responsible for supporting young people throughout the day, ensuring they are safe, regulated, and supported to engage in low-demand activities in a meaningful way. This includes recognising early signs of distress or overwhelm, and responding in ways that are calm, consistent, and supportive.

The role involves preparing and delivering activities, supporting transitions, supervising a small group (not alone), co-regulating with individuals, and helping children access activities. Facilitators are also expected to set up and pack down activities, maintain a clean and safe space, attend briefings and debriefs, work within the organisations policies and procedures and work collaboratively with the wider team and families.

This includes supporting access to activities, building trusting relationships, preparing and adapting sensory materials, and upholding safeguarding and safety standards at all times.

This is an active, hands-on role best suited to someone who is observant, patient, and confident in maintaining safety and structure while supporting children with diverse sensory, communication and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities

* Support children's participation in play and activities, taking into account sensory profiles, communication preferences and emotional regulation needs.
* Provide consistent, responsive co-regulation and maintain a low-arousal approach across the day.
* Promote emotional and physical safety, following all safeguarding, supervision and risk protocols.
* Contribute to the set-up and close-down of the environment each day, including preparing sensory resources and ensuring equipment is used safely.
* Maintain a psychologically safe environment through attuned, respectful interactions and attention to group dynamics.
* Monitor and support sensory regulation, including offering access to tools and spaces that align with each child's profile.
* Follow individual support plans, communication passports and other relevant documents.
* Engage in reflective debriefs to share observations, review support strategies and inform inclusive practice.
* Collaborate closely with the team to ensure all children are supported in a consistent, inclusive and attuned manner.
* Respond appropriately to signs of dysregulation or distress, using strategies that are non-punitive, consent-based and rooted in trauma-informed approaches.
* Accurately report and record any safeguarding concerns or incidents.
* Follow health and safety, safeguarding, equalities and all other organisational policies at all times.

Essential Requirements

* A clean Enhanced DBS, completed through Neurokind Space CIC
* A calm, reflective and compassionate approach to supporting children and young people
* Ability to work within a values-led team using a collaborative, relational model
* Strong communication skills and a commitment to inclusion and equity
* Willingness to complete mandatory safeguarding training prior to working

Desirable (but not required)

We actively welcome applicants with lived experience, including:

* Neurodivergent people
* Parents/carers of children with additional needs (childcare can be discussed)

We also welcome any of the following (mandatory training can be provided if not held):

* Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Education, Youth Work or Health & Social Care
* Safeguarding Level 2 or 3
* Paediatric or Emergency First Aid
* Fire Safety Awareness
* Experience or training in sensory integration, AAC, Makaton

Personal Attributes

We're looking for individuals who are:

* Committed to the need for safe and calm co-regulation
* Patient, observant, and able to work flexibly across the day
* Comfortable with sensory engagement (e.g., messy play, sensory tools)
* Respectful of different ways of communicating, processing and relating
* Committed to reflection, learning and inclusive values

Additional Information

* The setting operates from a school site. While this means some environmental features are fixed, we adapt our provision to maximise accessibility and reduce sensory overwhelm.
* We may be able to support with childcare needs — please feel free to raise this at interview.
* Full induction, training and support will be provided prior to starting.

If you share our commitment to inclusion, neurodiversity-affirming practice, and respectful care, we would love to hear from you.

To apply, please send a CV or expression of interest to outlining any experience or interest in supporting neurodivergent children.
