About the Role

This role will be responsible for the production and reporting of the management accounts taking on a hands-on approach, as part of a progressive and fast-moving business. Day to day focus will be on supporting the Commercial Systems Manager in the production of daily management information and data analysis across the business. Additionally ensuring efficient and tight financial controls are in place, being instrumental in the continuous improvement journey of the business and the finance function. To provide accurate monthly management liaising with all operational areas of the business.


Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will support the function in providing Group Finance with timely, incisive, high quality financial information, as well as assisting with the production of the board pack.


Internal systems improvements and reporting enhancements will also be key requirements of the role, together with assisting in tight controls and processes around cash management and reporting.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

* Produce the Monthly management accounts including processing of journals, detailed analysis and variance analysis
* Produce data to assist the FC and CEO in decision making
* Assist the FC in the production of forecasts and budgeting
* Assist the FC in managing cash and working capital
* Assist the Commercial Systems Manager in the production of external KPI reporting to key framework customers
* Assist the Commercial Systems Manager in producing the daily reporting information
* Assist the Commercial Systems Manager in Systems administration including gaining detailed knowledge of Glean-quote and Sage systems
* Year end procedures including liaising with auditors and preparation of statutory accounts.
* Ad hoc reporting across various aspects of finance, presenting to the FC



Personal Specifications

* ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualification is essential
* Previous experience within construction or manufacturing advantageous
* Experience of previous systems implementation advantageous
* Experience /ability to demonstrate aptitude for detailed and accurate reporting
* Experience in a previous data analysis role advantageous
* Experience of working in a fast-pace environment
* Proficient in Excel
* Pro-active with a drive to improve systems, processes and output to benefit business
* Excellent communication skills with a forward thinking, pro-active attitude
